A young man joins a crowd outside ‘TVD’s Cash Store’ after the shop was looted on October 23, 2015, Albany Road, Makhanda, South Africa. Police kept the crowd at a distance with cordon tape and at times, stun grenades, while the shop owners moved the remnants of their possessions to a safe location. In the three days from 21-23 October it is estimated as many as 300 shops owned by foreign nationals were looted, leaving hundreds of residents displaced from their homes.
